Course description
The Cape Peninsula University of Technology Human Capital Learning & Development Department is responsible for staff training and is herewith requesting the services of a suitably qualified service provider to offer a training programme to a 100 CPUT members of staff on how to conduct grievance & disciplinary hearings in the workplace, using the CPUT grievance and disciplinary policies. Training material to be development and customized to the needs of CPUT and said training material to become the intellectual property of CPUT. Training is to be conducted over 4 training sessions, at 25 participants per training session.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE COURSE:
- To train the CPUT staff on all the relevant South African Labour Laws, in relation to conducting grievance and disciplinary hearings.
- Focus on the important labour law elements involved in the processes.
- All other areas of learning the service provider deems necessary.
Objectives
The objectives of the programme should be designed to assist the 100 CPUT members of staff to:
- Possess the knowledge and skills to effectively conduct grievance and disciplinary hearings.
- To provide training that underpins the principles of procedural & substantive fairness, in conducting the above
Modules/ Topics/ Sessions:
The above to be discussed with the Human Capital Employment Relations Department, but it is envisaged that we will have 4 trainings sessions at 2 days per training session, and 25 participants per session. Aforesaid training sessions to be conducted during March & April 2024
Accreditation:
The Service Provider:
1.Must be registered with a relevant SETA and/or a professional Body,
2.Must have excellent knowledge and skills in conducting grievances and disciplinary hearings, mediation and understand human dynamics and labour legislation.
3.Must have experience with presenting and training groups as stated in number 2, an advantage would be experience in training the above in higher education.
Service Outcomes:
- Pre- training discussions to agree on content of the training programme.
- During- training evaluation of participation and other aspects to be conducted.
- Post- training evaluation to be conducted to identify what worked and needs further attention.
- Reports- to be drafted and submitted to the L&D office 7 days after the training.
- Certificates of completion to be issued to staff.
