Course Description
Robin DeRossa (2022) argues that Higher Education Institutions must prioritise their students' needs and eliminate racial bias from curriculums. As educational technologies continue to advance, social justice and equality are more accessible. The Centre for Innovative Educational Technologies (CIET) aims to counter the deficiency of critical thinking in designing blended courses at CPUT through critical instructional design.
The session provides a comprehensive guide that empowers lecturers to create effective and meaningful learning experiences for their students. Combining the principles of critical pedagogy and instructional design, this session presents a step- by-step approach to designing blended courses that promote deep learning, critical thinking, and social justice. With practical tips and case studies, it offers strategies for leveraging technology, incorporating learner-cantered activities, and fostering inclusive and collaborative learning environments.
